			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>New Cassettes is a five-piece band from Northhampton, England who have been leaving audiences wanting more since 2005.  The band released their debut single, &#8220;You Won&#8217;t Stop&#8221; on Fantastic Plastic-with copies selling out within the first month and landing number 11 in the indie charts in England.</p>
<p>They have gained critical acclaim from plays on Radio 1, BBC6 and XFM, and have been a MySpace featured artist as well as the Radio 1 front-page feature.  Recently the band toured in support of The Strokes, played the Glastonbury Music Festival, and has been featured on the &#8220;The Inbetweeners&#8221; Soundtrack and had a headlining tour in Japan.</p>
<p>The band is managed by Sound Merchants Management in New York City (Andrew Morris/ Tamara Martin).</p>
<p>The New Cassettes finished the final mixing of their second album, Winterhead, with Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne and sound engineer Geoff Sanoff. While in the states working on the album the band took a break from the studio to do a special ASCAP-hosted showcase for TV and Film music supervisors at the Gibson Showroom in Los Angeles. The show was a success. MTV became big fans of the New Cassettes after their short stop in Los Angeles and ask them to join the new venture between MTV and Extreme Music.  MTV sent out a global press release announcing New Cassettes involvement with the new partnership. </p>
<p>Recently New Cassettes returned to the US to perform at the SXSW 2011 Festival in Austin, TX, where they teared up the MTV Garage stage as well as other select shows.this the band has received very positive critical blog reviews, Radio (KWSS 1067). The band will return to the US,May 12th to perform at a Broadcasted  MTV Hype Music Launch Party @ Village Recorders, Los Angeles.  </p>
<p>Followed by a trip to NYC for a show and interview on the &#8220;Lillywhite Sessions&#8221; by Steve Lillywhite @ East Village Radio, May 17th!!</p>
