To say it’s been a busy few months for The MIDI Mafia would be a gross understatement. Not only has the group been actively building their brand by licensing all over your screen, they’ve also been spending some studio time with some of the industry’s hottest talent, producing for Cee Lo Green, Frank Ocean and Conor Maynard, to name a few. That time was clearly well spent as it has resulted in a featured movie track, a VMA nominated hit and a future chart burner. Developing into the industry’s behind the scenes “godfather”, The MIDI Mafia are taking their seat at the head of the table when it comes to producing hit songs.
The duo recently worked with chart topper Cee Lo Green to produce “I’m A Man”, which was tapped to feature in the upcoming movie Sparkle, as well as appear on the film’s official soundtrack. You can hear it in the trailer for the movie below.
The MIDI Mafia produced the Frank Ocean track “Swim Good” which recently earned Ocean three nominations in this year’s upcoming VMA’s. It’s obvious this track presents an offer that nobody could refuse, so these noms will likely whack a few nods. Check it out below.
To round out the recent credits, The MIDI Mafia also has a potential hit with emerging artist Conor Maynard. Maynard, whose upcoming album was also co-written by the likes of NeYo, Pharrell Williams and Frank Ocean, recently earned a spot as an MTV PUSH Artist of the month at MTV.com.
The MIDI Mafia has control, and the industry knows. Their story is absolutely “to be continued” as this is only the beginning for these members of Hype Music’s elite.
